Our Favourite Golf Shots of 2018 (So Far)

It's approaching late-April and there's a little bit of post-Masters syndrome in the air. It's not a nice feeling, but we can (and will) all get through this.

We've been thinking here in the office that, to help show there's plenty of great golf out there to be had, we would pull together some of our favourite (and maybe the best) golf shots of 2018 so far. And, now that Augusta National is firmly in the rear-view mirror, none of them will be from the season's first major.

That might have something to do with Masters highlights videos being harder to get hold of than, well, tickets to the Masters actually.

Let's see what we've come up with as our favourite (and possibly the best) golf shots of 2018 so far:

Dustin Johnson - WGC Mexico Championship

Back at the start of March, the world's best golfers met at Centro Nacional de Golf for the first World Golf Championship of the year and Dustin Johnson continued his great form in these lucrative events by taking the win.

Along the way, he hit one of our favourite shots of the year so far and many would argue it's one of the best too. From little over 110 yards the current world-number-one sent his ball over the back of the pin and spun it back into the cup with authority.

Watch as DJ's ball backs up for an eagle, and check out his animated celebration (*possible sarcasm alert):

The WGC Mexico was actually one of our favourite events of the year and it threw up some stunning shots. Instead of listing them individually, here's PGA Tour's top-5:

Tiger Woods - Arnold Palmer Invitational

Of course, the most talked about golf story of 2018 continues to be the reappearance and resurgence of Tiger Woods.

There have been a few positive signs to suggest that a return to winning ways on Tour may not be as fanciful as some commentators had previously suggested. One such sign came on the par-3 7th hole at Bay Hill during the Arnold Palmer Invitational where the 14-time major winner drained a swingng 71-foot putt for birdie.

Watch below - it's a stunner:

Tommy Fleetwood - Honda Classic

During his third round at PGA National Resort & Spa, Tommy Fleetwood was coming off a bogey when he arrived on the 4th hole tee-box. After a good drive, he had only 140 yards left to the flag before stepping forward to send it home for a timeliest of eagle twos.

Watch the 2017 European Tour Player of the Year holing out below:

Dustin Johnson - Sentry Tournament of Champions

The game's highest ranked golfer makes his second appearance on our list with a near hole-in-one on the par-4 12th hole at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii.

The 433-yard hole was gobbled up by DJ's booming drive and he was left with a 'kick-in' eagle putt. Does the golf ball go too far? Not sure it matters in DJ's case; he'll still be massive!!

Watch and marvel below:

Ross Fisher - WGC Mexico Championship

We're back to the WGC Mexico Championship, but with good reason. We can't have a list of our favourite golf shots of 2018 (and possibly the best) without featuring a hole-in-one.

Englishman Ross Fisher managed just this feat at the par-3 third hole during March's tournament. The ball landed just left of the flag before taking the slope down and into the cup for a stunning ace.
