Best Golf Putting Grips - Which is right for you?

In the last decade, a whole bunch of new ways to putt the golf ball seem to have broken onto the scene...

The reverse overlap grip, the cross-handed grip, the claw grip, the prayer grip; the list goes on and on and on. We thought we'd try and clear a few things up and help you decide which putting grip might be best for you.

Here are a few videos with some of the most popular golf grips out there:

Our favourite YouTube coach, Peter Finch takes us through a few of the putting grip options for you to try out and experiment with...

Another compilation of the best grip options here, it's important to find the grip which helps you keep your wrists as stable as possible...

Experimentation is key; get out there and practice! Here's how you can execute the left-below-right grip, the pen holder grip and the claw putting grip...

Rickie Fowler talks about the cross-handed grip and how it helps improve his putting stroke...

The claw putting style can be one of the toughest to (sorry) get to grips with. Here's Phil Mickelson to help you get a grasp of it...

Everyone's different. Amongst the golfers here at Hole19 HQ we have no fewer than 4 different putting styles amongst us. It really all comes down to personal preference which can only be discovered through trial and error.

Next time you head out for a practice round why not try rotating between putter grip styles, eliminating the options as you go. By the end of the round you'll hopefully have an idea of which definitely won't work and which are worth pursuing further.
