Hit Or Miss: 2017/18 PGA Tour Predictions
Now that the 2017/18 PGA Tour season has come to an end, and with the 2018/19 wrap-around season ready to get going at this week's Safeway Open, we decided to take a look back at our early season predictions and see how many we managed to get right (if any).
You can catch the results below and make sure you keep an eye out for our 2018/19 predictions (coming next week).
We Will See A Career Grand Slam (MISS)
Nope. There were three men who could have closed out their own personal career grand slam with one major win but each of Rory McIlroy (Masters), Jordan Spieth (PGA Championship) and Phil Mickelson (U.S. Open) came up short.
Brandt Snedeker Will Rediscover Winning Form (HIT)
We got this one bang on as Sneds took the Wyndham Championship in August thanks in no small part to a stunning 59 during his second round.
Watch him close out the 59 below...
Peter Uihlein Will Win In His Rookie Year (MISS)
Close, but no cigar. We were quite near with this particular prediction as Uihlein finished in the top-5 at both the Wells Fargo Championship in May and the Memorial Tournament in June.
Dustin Johnson Will Enjoy Back-To-Back Wins (HIT)
We're cheating a little here because this is only a HIT when considering two consecutive PGA Tour regular season appearances. DJ won the FedEx St Jude Classic in June and then the RBC Canadian Open seven weeks later.
Two starts in between were at major championships with his best finish coming at Shinnecock Hills (T3).
Tiger Woods Will Take Part In A 2018 Major (HIT)
This one might seem a little obvious now given that so much water has passed under the bridge in Tiger's return to the game - not least his Tour Championship win a fortnight ago.
When we made this prediction back in last October, there was much scepticism regarding Tiger's ability to make regular Tour starts let alone to show up (and challenge) at majors.

Jon Rahm Will Win A Maiden Major in 2018 (MISS)
Yeah, so we've no real excuses with this one. 'Rahmbo' didn't live up to our prediction but he did manage sole 4th position at Augusta National and a T-4 at the PGA Championship.
As predictions go, not terrible, but not right either!!
Marc Leishman To Enter OWGR Top-10 & Become Top Aussie (MISS)
A bit of a resounding miss this one. Marc Leishman failed to win in 2018 and, as it turns out, fellow Australian Jason Day had somewhat of a resurgence to stay above him in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Maiden FedEx Cup Winner (HIT)
Justin Rose managed to hold on at the end of the Tour Championship to bag a cool $10M and, with it, he's got us another big HIT.
Catch Rose's winner's interview below...
Hat-Trick Of Green Jackets For Europeans (MISS)
We were predicting that another European would follow up on the previous wins of Sergio Garcia (2017) and Danny Willett (2016) to make it an impressive hat-trick of Green Jackets in Ryder Cup year.
Patrick Reed had other ideas and managed to grab his own maiden major championship at this year's Masters Tournament.
Team USA Will Relinquish The Ryder Cup (HIT)
Team Europe were imperious at Le Golf National and, although we managed another HIT, none of us here at Hole19 HQ thought the victory would be as resounding as it ultimately turned out.

So then, five hits and five misses - we'll take that. Stay tuned for our 2018/19 predictions coming next week.
