The trio of golf courses you can play with the Madeira Golf passport is about as

The Courses

CLUBE DE GOLFE SANTO DA SERRA

You can experience Madeira's breathtaking beauty from the renowned Clube
de Golf Santo da Serra.
The course is set in an authentic botanical garden,
ornamented with four beautiful lakes and scenic views.

Steeped in history, this 27-hole club resides in one of the most beautiful natural
landscapes imaginable. Built in 1937, the course was redesigned in 1991 by
acclaimed architect Robert Trent Jones Sr.

Ranked among the world's finest courses, Santo da Serra is a premier golf and
country club with real distinction. Visitors will benefit from a comfortable
clubhouse with a panoramic restaurant, lounge, bar and terrace with stunning
sea views.

PALHEIRO GOLF

Marvel at panoramic views over Funchal, the island's capital, as you
play Palheiro. The magnificent Palheiro Nature Estate, 500 meters above sea
level, offers dramatic views of Madeira's mountainous skyline. As one of the
most beautiful courses in Europe, this 18-hole par 72 championship course is
truly unmissable.

The picturesque layout - designed by renowned golf architect Cabell B.
Robinson -  has year-round appeal and takes full advantage of Madeira's hilly
terrain, abrupt ridges and deep valleys. Undoubtedly, Palheiro offers a real
challenge for even the most seasoned golfer.

PORTO SANTO GOLFE

Porto Santo Golfe is located on a small island off the coast of Madeira, just
over two hours away by ferry or 15 minute by plane. If you opt to play this
course as one of your 3 or 5 rounds, you'll see some spectacular views over
awesome volcanic terrain.

The 18-hole, par-72 course was designed by five-time major champion Seve
Ballesteros. The layout crosses the island from the dunes to the dramatic basalt
cliffs to offer a perfect combination of natural beauty and a challenging test of
golf.

Porto Santo's esteemed clubhouse perfectly matches the course's environment
and includes a top-quality restaurant where you can taste local delicacies while
admiring the surrounding landscape.

OUR FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO IN MADEIRA

Cabo Girão's skywalk
The Madeira skywalk is undoubtedly not for the faint-hearted. Jutting out of the
side of some of the highest cliffs in Europe, the Cabo Giaro is the world's
second-highest viewing point. Get ready for astonishing views of both Rancho and Cabo Girão, as well as stunning panoramic views over the ocean as far as
the eye can see.It can be busy with tourists, but it's definitely worth a visit.

Sample the local delacacies
As you might expect, Madeira's cuisine and wine have a strong Mediterranean
and Portuguese influence. In fact, Madeira is one of the cornerstones of the
Portuguese wine industry, with its vineyards dating back to the 15th century.
After a day on the fairways, you'll have your pick of the many aromatic local
wines to celebrate another great round.
You'll also need to try Poncha - the traditional alcoholic drink made fresh with
citrus juice, honey and rum. It's powerful stuff, but you know what they say -
when in Madeira, do as the Madeirans do.

Roam around Funchal's 'Old Town'
One of Madeira's tourist hotspots is its largest city, Funchal. The 'Old Town' in
Funchal is made up of small and cosy alleys where locals and tourists come
and stroll during the day and enjoy beautiful and quiet evenings.
The area is littered with many bars and restaurants offering hearty meat dishes
and seafood delights, and all washed down with the finest European wines.
Keep an eye out for the 'painted doors' project, where 200 doors have been
adorned with some beautiful pieces of artwork.
On a day away from the course, check out The Monte Sledges for something a
little bit different. It's an unforgettable ride where men in straw hats push you
down the mountain towards Funchal in a wicker sledge. You can hit speeds of
around 30kmph, which might not sound fast, but when did you last see a wicker
sledge reaching those speeds?

Watch the sunrise at Ponta Do Rosto
Located on the far east of the island, Ponta Do Rosto is a peninsula which
offers a perfect view of the spectacular Madeiran sunrise. Being only 30 minutes from Funchal, you won't need to wake up too early. And you'll be back
nicely in time for a late breakfast before a mid-morning tee time.

The bottom line: With the Madeira Golf Passport you can play three top-
quality golf courses in one of the most beautiful island locations on Earth. The
unrivalled experiences both on and off the course help make Madeira an
obvious choice for your next golf break.
