First and foremost, we hope you are safe & well.

We know a number of Hole19’ers are big fans of the Apple Watch (we know we are) and love the quick access to yardages on their wrists. Recently, a small number of you have faced some issues, which, thankfully, have been reported to our awesome Customer Service team.

We wanted to highlight 3 main issues with some possible solutions for you to try in case you are one of the few golfers facing challenges with the Hole19 app on Apple Watch.

The Wrist Raise Issue

It’s quite convenient to immediately see your distances on the Watch when raising your wrist. That’s why the Apple Watch has a cool setting where you can always have the Apple Watch show the last app.

With the most recent update, it seems that watchOS has undergone some changes and the last app is somehow moved to the background and the watch face will show, even with this setting set to “Always”.

Please, read this article which explains a quick-fix while we wait for an update of the OS to restore the behaviour we loved so much.

The Sync Issue

When you stand on the first tee and you’re starting your round on your iPhone, you expect the yardages to show up on the Apple Watch immediately. For the most part, this works like a charm, but some golfers have seen the Hole19 app on Apple Watch stuck on the main screen and it seems like the Watch and the iPhone aren’t synced.

If this is the case with you, please try the following:
(don’t worry, all your rounds & data will stay saved on your account)

1. Delete the Hole19 app from your Apple Watch
2. Delete the Hole19 app from your iPhone
3. Re-install the Hole19 app onto your iPhone and sign in with your original account
4. Re-install the Hole19 app for Apple Watch if you have a dedicated App Store for Apple Watch apps
5. If you’re having troubles installing the app onto your Apple Watch, see “The Install Issue” below
6. If none of the above work, then please restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch.

The Install Issue

If for some strange reason, while trying to install the Hole19 app onto your Apple Watch, all you see is a never-ending spinning loader, then this might be one of three reasons listed below:

1. You are installing too many apps at once: this could mean one or more apps are in queue to be installed and this can take longer than normal.
2. The Apple Watch is not connected to your iPhone: make sure that your iPhone Bluetooth connection is on and that the Apple Watch is actually connected.
3. If it is none of the above: please restart your iPhone and/or Apple Watch. You have help articles here and here respectively.

Whilst we are coding away and improving the Hole19 experience on Apple Watch, we hope that for those of you that are experiencing some of the issues above, our proposed solutions work.

Thanks for taking the time to read this message, for using Hole19 and generally for being awesome!
