Recife: Discover northeastern Brazil

Recife

Recife, the state capital of Pernambuco, is both a business city and a leisure destination. Although beaches are the main local attractions, there are plenty of cultural experiences available in the region. If you are in Recife, be sure to visit Olinda and Porto de Galinhas.

Another must-see is Ricardo Brennand Institute, considered one of the finest museums in Brazil, which hosts sculpture replicas such as Michelangelo's David or Rodin's The Thinker.

Arsenal Square is home to two of Recife's most interesting attractions. One is Paço do Frevo, a cultural venue “dedicated to the dissemination of, research on, and training in 'frevo' dance and music, with the goal of perpetuating it for future generations.” Nearby you can find another cultural attraction - Mamulengo Theater, where a show with traditional puppets is held every afternoon.

Finish off your day at Boa Viagem, a seven-kilometer long beach, and admire the magnificent sunset.

Visit Recife and experience the region's rich cultural life.

Golf in Recife

There might only be one golf course in Recife itself, but it is an absolute must-play.

Caxangá Golf & Country Club

Golf has been played in Pernambuco State since 1909 originally in the plain areas of the upmarket Derby neighbourhood. But it was not until 1928 that the first golf course in the State was constructed, initially called The Pernambuco Golf Club. In 1944, the club was relocated to a new 160 acre area between Caxangá Avenue and Capibaribe River, and then renamed to Caxangá Golf & Country Club

You can discover other golf courses in the surrounding areas below.
